Change It Up!
Have you ever wondered why some people thrive on change while others resist it vehemently? Personally, I find joy in change. It adds an element of excitement to life, a constant anticipation of something new. I recall a family member who adhered to a strict meal routine – Monday was salmon, Tuesday chicken, Wednesday pasta, and so on. I couldn't help but think, "What if you crave pizza or sushi on a Wednesday?" The predictability seemed boring to me. I understand that for families, having a set dinner routine can alleviate stress, but the idea of spontaneity appeals to me.
In my own life, I actively seek change. It's not uncommon for me to wake up and rearrange a piece of furniture, shift a picture, or relocate a floral arrangement to infuse a fresh perspective into my surroundings. As a walker, I explore my beautiful neighborhood daily, intentionally changing my route each time. Walking the same path daily might lead to overlooking the flowers, trees, and gardens, which defeats the purpose of my walk – to breathe in the morning air and truly appreciate the surroundings.
Yes, I revel in change. For those accustomed to routines, I encourage you to try altering one aspect of your routine for a week and observe how it feels. Changing habits can be challenging, but taking small steps can make the process more manageable. Who knows, soon you might find yourself rearranging furniture just for the thrill of change!
